You know after the CNN debate the other night, I realized none of the front-runners are all that inspiring. And if Mrs. Clinton gets elected, it will mean that two families have controlled the most powerful office in the world for (potentially) 30 years. I mean, what is this, Argentina?

However, I've more or less come to terms with my Hillary anxiety and embraced the idea of her getting the nomination. There are some good things that would come out of her presidency, I think. We'd get the health care thing under control, she'd likely pick Joe Biden as a running mate, put Bill Richardson in as Secretary of State, and send Mr. Clinton, arguably the most popular man in the world (per Mrs. Clinton: http://cayankee.blogs.com/cayankee/2007/02/the_most_popula.html & per James Fallows: http://www.apfn.net/messageboard/07-08-06/discussion.cgi.21.html), around the world to smooth over anti-Americanism like a pat of butter on pancakes and the syrup that runs over them. Mmmm, mmmm, good. Like Bill, she'd also likely surround herself with an enviable brain-trust of smart folks and put us on the road to international recovery and domestic social enlightenment. After the Bush dark ages, this looks pretty good to me.

So for my part, whatever anxieties I might have about the particulars of the woman, looking at the larger picture -- and knowing the woman herself is as capable and smart as anyone and more so than most -- I see a rather rosy glow. Relief, more than anything, I guess.

Heck, Giuliani, the Republican fave, has a major scandal growing already and he's not even the nominee: http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&safe=off&rlz=1B2GGGL_enUS176&q=giuliani+kerick&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wn
